street, Alicetown, Lower Hutt (NZ).
Our Manufacturing
base is located along behind the LIGHTHOUSE
Retail shop and specialises
in making and supplying quality Fabric shades. We manufacture
to any specifications and no order is too small or too big.
We have supplied our shades to a range of top locations including
many Restaurants, Event Centres, Theatres, Hotels, Offices,
Shopping Centres and countless Homes throughout New Zealand
and beyond.
History:
Shady Lady Lighting began as a small manufacturer in 1979
supplying the local market with quality hand-made fabric shades.
In the early days, the Retail shop was only opened a couple
of days a week. With its reputation for delivering custom
made quality products spreading it didn't take long for the
business to start to grow.
The Retail shop grew in parallel
with the Manufacturing, and was soon trading six days a week.
We then began supplying other lighting products to compliment
the fabric shades that were made on-site.
In 2000 Shady
Lady Lighting became two different independently
owned companies. The Retail showroom became LIGHTHOUSE,
and the Manufacturing / Importing company kept the Shady Lady
Lighting name. In 2008 the "Lady" Logo (see below)
was finally retired after 29 years of service and was replace
with the new logo you see at the top of our web-pages.
Up until December 2002 we were
based in Woburn (near Lower Hutt), in a building that was
originally the Woburn Picture Theatre. We re-located our Manufacturing
and Retail showroom to 446 Cuba Street , Alicetown
(Lower Hutt) in January 2003. This was to take advantage of
the larger Retail Showroom we required, and to be close to
the home improvement retailers that were already located in
the Alicetown shopping centre.
2009
Was the year we out grew our location in Alicetown
and our Factory and manufacturing moved to a much larger
premesis at Unit 1, 2 Horlor street, Naenae. (This freed up
space to double the size of our Retail showroom at 446 Cuba
street Alicel. Lower Hutt.
Today
we continue supply New Zealand with a lot of the shades you
see in Quality Lighting Showrooms, Shopping Centres, Hotels, Restaurants,
Museums, Cafes and of course your Homes.
