About Us
For 46 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping Kiwis light up their homes, from charming period properties to sleek modern spaces, with designs that reflect their unique style.
As a family-run business, we truly understand the importance of individuality in every home. When Allen and I joined the business, we carried forward its legacy of offering a carefully curated range of lighting solutions for homes and businesses across New Zealand.
Our showroom is more than just a place to shop—it’s a welcoming space where you’ll find everything from heritage-inspired fittings to modern designs, all handpicked to suit a variety of tastes and needs.

The name Shady Lady Lighting comes from our humble beginnings 46 years ago, when we started by crafting handmade fabric lampshades. While we’ve grown into full-service lighting specialists, we continue to make custom fabric shades with the same care and attention to detail. We also offer a wide range of lighting components and fittings to help you update, rewire, or repair your existing lighting.
